Aquila Collection - Senior Interior Designer - Green Point, Cape Town
A well established Hospitality and Tourism Group of companies in Cape Town is looking for the next interior design star to join our in house hospitality design team. We require the skills of a Senior Interior Designer with advanced experience in the field of hospitality related design. An emailed portfolio and CV containing your experience and qualifications will be required.
We need a creative, dynamic individual that can handle all aspects of our projects, from conceptualising, to on site management, you will be joining an in house architectural team, and will head up an interior design and procurement division.
The position is based in Green Point, Cape Town, the applicant must be able to work on multiple hospitality projects approximately 2 hours from Cape Town. The current projects include multiple four and five star game reserves, coastal hotels, restaurants and guest houses.
Essential Requirements:
Experience in the hospitality sector
Hospitality design experience, and the ability to achieve a luxurious four and five star product with an upmarket atmosphere
Advanced in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Archicad or Revit
Must be able to measure and produce accurate as built drawings
Production of detail drawings, joinery drawings, lighting and ceiling layouts, bespoke furniture design
Good admin skills
Excellent artistic ability and conceptual design
Should be able to multitask various projects simultaneously, these will be range from hotels, lodges and guest houses to restaurant
Be able to provide sketches of your proposed designs for a space
You would be required present a mood board, colour schemes, samples, furniture and materials to complement the design, that suits the requirements for function, durability and accessibility
Creating a bill of quantities, schedules, and budgets
Exceptional negotiation skills of prices on all purchases
Must have existing relationships with suppliers
Co-ordination with client, architects, builders, electricians, plumbers and others to complete the job in a timely and cost-effective manner
The ability to work well with others
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
High levels of attention to detail
Excellent inter-personal skills
Ability to work effectively and independently
Ability to work to strict deadlines
Strong organizational skills essential
Own transport, laptop and software essential
Must be available to travel regularly within the Western Cape and sleep over, in order to conduct site visits.
