is seeking a
highly
motivated,
qualified, and
experienced
Gallery
Manager
to join the
dynamic team at
our Cape Town
branch. This is
a full-time
position
requiring a
proactive,
detail-oriented
individual with
strong
administrative,
organizational,
and
interpersonal
skills.
Key
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Gallery Director and Curator on all aspects of gallery operations.
Oversee daily administrative tasks, including international shipping logistics and finance functions such as quoting, invoicing and artists’ sales summaries.
Maintain and update inventory across all branches.
Manage logistics between the team, artists, clients, framers, and the gallery’s three locations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for artists and clients via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
Coordinate and execute exhibitions, art fairs, and gallery events, including First Thursdays.
Maintain and update the gallery’s database and website.
Send marketing emails and newsletters via Mailchimp.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a gallery, retail, or related industry.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Mac systems.
Knowledge of website management, social media and design.
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience in the art and/or design industry.
Strong design skills (knowledge of graphic design software is a plus).
Familiarity with Shopify and website management.
Working Hours: • Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 17:00
• Rotating Saturdays: 09:30 – 13:00
• Flexible hours are required for art fairs, exhibition openings, and special events.
Compensation: • Salary based on industry experience.
