KT Interior Architectural Studio is looking to hire aSenior-Level Interior Designer inour Cape Town office.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years proven work experience (Contactable references)
Must be able to work both independently and with a team
Candidate should be creative and have an eye for design and detail
Must be able to work under pressure with quick turnover times.
Responsibilities:
Client engagement:
o - Serve as primary liaison with clients; actively listening to their needs, preferences, and feedback throughout the design process
o - Present design proposals and recommendations addressing client concerns and incorporating feedback to ensure alignment with project objectives
o - Confidently attend and lead meetings with clients and contractors.
Project management:
o - Confidently attend and lead meetings with contractors
o - Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining high quality standards
o - Liaise with external design teams and other associated organisations or companies
o - Need to be available to travel and work weekends and overtime, when required.
Conceptualization and Design Development:
o - Good understanding of all phases of a project from concept to completion
o - Develop and compile design presentations with relevant software
o - Produce technical drawings, joinery and details
o - Excellent understanding of construction and joinery details
o - Familiar with local building codes and regulations
o - Good problem-solving skills in coming up with design solutions
o - Procurement experience with a good understanding of FF&E and materials
o - Keep up with local trends and available materials and construction methods.
Leadership and Mentorship:
o - Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to all designers, fostering their professional growth and nurturing a collaborative team environment
o - Lead by examples, inspiring creativity, innovation, and excellence within the design team to achieve project goals and exceed expectations.
Desirable:
Experience in restaurant/hospitality/residential design would be an advantage
Roll out experience a plus.
Technical skills:
Proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD and Photoshop
Rendering programs – Enscape or similar
Proficient in PowerPoint presentations
Excel spreadsheets for budget purposes.
