BHA School of Lighting joins the "Glare Patrol Challenge" panel discussion
February '25 Newsletter

Following the success of the Glare Patrol Challenge, a global initiative aiming to raise awareness about glare, The Lighting Police hosted an enlightening panel discussion to explore the widespread yet often underestimated issue of glare caused by artificial light.

Over several weeks, participants observed, documented, and shared instances of glare in their environments, resulting in 16 submissions from around the world. The Lighting Police advisory board members selected 5 cases out of the 16, offering actionable solutions and advices during the panel discussion on creating "healthier, safer and more comfortable spaces" through better lighting practices.

Moderated by Katia Kolovea, this global conversation featured expert insights from the esteemed advisory board:

Lara Elbaz, Elbazgildemontes (Spain): Real-world applications and the importance of balancing light intensity and contrast.

  • Ximena Muñoz, Luxia Lighting (Chile): Managing glare in outdoor environments and project-specific strategies.
